MultiTrode selects ISaGRAF 5 for MultiSmart Pump Station Manager version 2.0

MultiTrode has selected ISaGRAF v5 for the latest version of their popular MultiSmart Pump Station Manager.

The MultiSmart Pump Station Manager, widely specified in the USA and Australia, is designed for monitoring and control of water/wastewater lift stations. Version 2.0 includes a pump controller, a PLC, an RTU, and an intuitive user interface.

"We used the ISaGRAF implementation of IEC61131-3 because it was the most proven platform, and we chose v5 as it offers a number of advantages over v3. One example is the ability in v5 to run different 'resources', or applications, at different rates to allow more critical applications to run more frequently." said Scott Martin, Software Architect for MultiSmart.

Major features of version 2.0 include IEC 61131-3 compliant PLC functionality with ISaGRAF v5 for complex station control, DNP3 security, and import / export of Modbus & DNP3 tags in .csv format, as well as viewing of the entire tag database, including Modbus, DNP3 and ISaGRAF tags, on the LCD screen.

April 2008: ISaGRAF workshop hosted by CRIT / PROMETEO Srl

ICS Triplex ISaGRAF partner Prometeo Srl and CRIT hosted a workshop at the La Rocca di Vignola castle in April: IEC 61499 and the ISaGRAF implementation of this standard.

May 2008: ISaGRAF work conference in Saint-Petersburg, Russia

ICS Triplex ISaGRAF and Fiord hosted the “ISaGRAF-2008” work conference in May at the "Pribaltiyskaya” hotel in Saint Petersburg.

This year's conference was attended by more than 60 professionals, representing large enterprises and leading Russian companies/integrators from Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Magnitogorsk, Orenburg, Ivanovo, etc., as well as Belarus.

The first part of the conference consisted of 8 presentations:

Fiord: Solutions for distributed system
Promkontroller (Tecon Group): Tecon Controller ISaGRAF-based Controller
Modular Systems Tornado: Fiord Controller (ISaGRAF based) + MIRage IO solution
FarPoint: Hardware solutions for ISaGRAF
Nienshants-Automation: ICP-DAS LinCon + ISaGRAF 5 solution
ITS PROFIS: ISaGRAF implementation in the Irkutsk oncology dispatching center system
Fiord: Dream Report, software for data consolidation and reporting.

The second part of the seminar consisted of 2 demonstrations, both based on ISaGRAF 5 technology.

Fiord presented distributed application using standard IEC 61499 with 4 different devices:
- FIORD-201 (FIORD)
- P06R (TECON)
- PC7Compact (SBS Technologies, Inc.)
- LinCon (ICP DAS)

This demonstration allowed participants to discover all the advantages and benefits of ISaGRAF 5 and the IEC 61499 standard.

Tornado Modular Systems presented an ISaGRAF / FIORD-201 / MIRage-N solution with both Ethernet and dual RS485 channel connection.
